1. Relationship to the Apple Standard EULA
By downloading or using Tick Sync: Watch Time Sync (“Tick Sync,” “the app”), you agree to the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (“Apple Standard EULA”) and these Supplemental Terms of Use (“Supplemental Terms”). The app uses the Apple Standard EULA, not a custom EULA. These Supplemental Terms address only app-specific use, subscriptions, technical limitations, and conduct. They do not replace, modify, narrow, or override the Apple Standard EULA. If they are inconsistent, the Apple Standard EULA controls. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Your license to use the app is the license granted under the Apple Standard EULA. These Supplemental Terms grant no additional license and do not expand or restrict that license beyond what the Apple Standard EULA and applicable law permit.
2. Intended use
Tick Sync assists with personal wristwatch adjustment using system time or NTP-calibrated time, generated audio for compatible radio-controlled watches, and Bluetooth time-setting support for explicitly compatible watches.
3. Accuracy and technical limitations
- Device clocks, networks, NTP servers, audio hardware, operating-system scheduling, radio conditions, and watch hardware can introduce error.
- Standard NTP over UDP port 123 is unauthenticated and may be blocked, delayed, spoofed, replayed, unavailable, or inconsistent.
- A multi-source estimate improves resilience but does not constitute authenticated time and is not a substitute for NTS or a certified time source.
- Generated audio relies on device output hardware and physical coupling. It is not a normal radio-frequency transmitter, and successful watch reception is not guaranteed.
- Bluetooth behavior varies by watch model and firmware. A successful write only confirms a protocol operation, not that a watch accepted or displayed the intended time.
- iOS controls background execution. Force-quitting the app prevents normal background relaunch until the app is opened again.
You are responsible for independently checking the resulting time.
4. Third-party and network services
Tick Sync can contact Apple, Cloudflare, Microsoft, NIST, PTB, Hong Kong, Macao, mainland-China, user-selected NTP servers, and ipwho.is. These services are independent, may change or stop operating, and are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. You are responsible for having permission to query any custom server you enter.
You must not use the app to overload, probe, disrupt, evade access controls on, or otherwise abuse a server, network, device, or watch. Automated or excessive use contrary to an operator’s rules is prohibited.
This section supplements, and does not limit, the External Services provisions of the Apple Standard EULA.
5. Watch compatibility
Bluetooth support is limited to watches whose discovered services and characteristics meet the app’s compatibility requirements. Disconnect the watch from another companion app when instructed, consult your watch manual, and verify compatibility before relying on a feature.
Tick Sync is an independent application and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any watch manufacturer, platform provider, time-signal authority, or NTP operator.
6. Annual auto-renewing subscription
“Advanced Features” is an annual auto-renewing subscription that can unlock multi-server consensus and management, optional location-based preselection, uncertainty estimates, and eligible background Bluetooth connection/time-setting behavior.
- The exact price and currency appear on Apple’s purchase sheet and vary by App Store country or region.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically for another year unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period.
- Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions.
- Restoration, billing, refunds, renewal, grace periods, and family sharing, when offered, are administered by Apple and applicable law.
- Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
During an active paid period, we will provide the subscription value described at purchase. If a change materially affects that obligation, we will provide the remedy required by Apple’s policies and applicable law.
7. Updates and availability
We may update, add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain security, compatibility, compliance, and product quality. Operating system changes, provider outages, watch firmware, geographic restrictions, and network policy may affect availability. Updates may be required for continued use. Any change remains subject to the Apple Standard EULA, App Store rules, our obligations for an active paid period, and applicable law.
8. Intellectual property and feedback
The app, its original design, text, graphics, and code are licensed, not sold, and remain protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party and open-source materials retain their respective licenses and attribution notices. If you send suggestions, you permit us to use them without an obligation to compensate you, while you retain ownership of your original content.

9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains local storage, location, ipwho.is, NTP server traffic, Bluetooth, StoreKit, support email, retention, deletion, and your choices. It forms part of these terms.
10. Disclaimers
The warranty and disclaimer provisions of the Apple Standard EULA apply. Without limiting them, the app-specific time estimates, watch compatibility information, and technical results are provided “as is” and “as available” to the maximum extent permitted by law. These Supplemental Terms do not exclude or modify any warranty or consumer right that the Apple Standard EULA or applicable law preserves.
11. Limitation of liability
The limitation-of-liability provisions of the Apple Standard EULA apply. Within the limits permitted by that EULA and applicable law, app-specific losses may include loss of data, profits, opportunity, device use, watch operation, or time accuracy arising from use of or inability to use the app. These Supplemental Terms do not alter the allocation of liability in the Apple Standard EULA or any mandatory statutory right.
12. Suspension and termination
The Apple Standard EULA remains effective and terminates according to its terms; your rights under it terminate automatically if you fail to comply with it. You may stop using and delete the app at any time, but subscription cancellation is separate. Without limiting the Apple Standard EULA, we may suspend or terminate access as permitted by law if you materially violate these Supplemental Terms, abuse third-party infrastructure, or use the app unlawfully. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain effective.
13. Governing rules and changes
The governing-law and dispute provisions of the Apple Standard EULA apply to matters covered by that EULA. These Supplemental Terms do not alter those provisions or mandatory consumer law where you live. We may update these Supplemental Terms for legal, security, provider, or feature changes. A new effective date will be posted, and material changes will be presented when appropriate. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
